When completed it will take Sam's spending on players to the £8m mark. Barker will join other big money signings like Peter Thorne (£1.7m), Graham Kavanagh and Andy Campbell (both £1m), Daniel Gabbidon (£800K), Spencer Prior (£700K) as well as Rhys Weston, David Hughes and Gavain Gordon who all cost around £500K.

Promotion was nearly achieved last season. City missing automatic promotion by a point and missing the play off final by a whisker. Expectation this time around will be even higher.
