Bluebirds close to Taiwo signing

Taiwo impressed when he played for Dagenham against City in the Carling Cup a couple of weeks ago.

If a signing is completed he would be unable to play against Bristol Rovers tomorrow as he'd be cup tied.

Dagenham lost their first league game on the weekend. Prior to that they topped the table with three wins from three. The deal to bring Taiwo to Cardiff could cost upto £250,000 depending on appearances.

Daggers manager John Still appears to confirm Taiwo's likely departure from East London.

"If it does goes through I will be gutted to lose him, but I've learnt that when it comes to football you cannot count on anything," Still told the Barking and Dagenham Post.

"He is a fantastic talent and he is another one in a long line who have come here and gone on to bigger things."

"He joins the likes of Mackail-Smith, Green and the Brentford boys and it makes us proud as a club that we carry on what we do."

Still claims the deal is not done yet. But it seems likely when you read his comments.

"But who says I will have money to spend on players. We have new stands that need to be paid for and a deal has not even been done yet."
