Cardiff City kept deadline day exciting as they made three last minute signings.

All day we have been waiting for Eoin Doyle's move from Chesterfield to be confirmed and that was announced just before 11pm. Then soon after came confirmation that Conor McAleny and Matty Kennedy both arrived from Everton. Kennedy is a permanent signing on a three and a half year deal. McAleny is on loan until the end of the season.

C:WindowsTempphpD37D.tmpDoyle is a prolific striker who has scored 21 goals in League 1 this season. It will be interesting to see if he can make an immediate step up to the Championship.

“When I heard about Cardiff’s interest this morning, I couldn’t ignore it,” said Doyle.

“It was then a case of getting in the car and getting down here as quickly as I could. I’m really looking forward to getting going now and the challenge ahead.

“Now it’s about getting into the team – we’ve a lot of good strikers at the Club already. Then it’ll be a case of contributing as much as I can and scoring a few goals to help us up the League.”

“I’ll be in for training on Tuesday morning and then it’ll be about getting to know the lads and working hard. I hope to be involved at the weekend and I know we’ll be going there for the three points.”

Conor McAleny, 22, a forward has made one appearance for Everton this season. He played 80 mins of  a Europa Cup tie against FK Krasnodar in December. He joins on loan until the end of the season.

Matthew Kennedy, 20, is a winger who has been on loan at Hibernian where he made 16 appearances this season. He has signed a three and a half year deal with The Bluebirds.
