Cardiff v Norwich. Early team news

Cardiff boss Dave Jones is set to hand new signing Gabor Gyepes his debut in the home Championship game against Norwich on Saturday.

The 27-year-old moved to Ninian Park earlier this week as a replacement for Glenn Loovens and will battle for a place in central defence with Roger Johnson and Darren Purse.

However, midfielder Gavin Rae could miss out once again as he continues to be blighted by a knee injury.

The Scotland international is playing through the pain barrier due to a chipped bone below his knee and is poised to make a decision on whether to undergo surgery.

Fellow midfielder Joe Ledley is also a doubt with the back problem which forced him to miss Wales Under-21s' clash with Romania in midweek.

Meanwhile, defender Tony Capaldi remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Norwich manager Glenn Roeder may push midfielder Darel Russell into attack as his side search for their first win of the season.

Russell came off the bench to head the Canaries' first goal of the season in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Blackpool, and Roeder admitted that if his search for a targetman draws a blank by Saturday then Russell may be used alongside Jamie Cureton.

Midfielder Sammy Clingan limped off in Northern Ireland's goalless draw with Scotland in midweek after picking up an ankle injury and is a major doubt.

Winger David Bell will have to wait for his debut as he recovers from an ankle injury while Gary Doherty is out for three months with an ankle problem of his own.
