City climb to 5th after win over Preston

After coming through a tough November results wise, City still kept in touch with the play off spots and now, thanks to the win over Preston, the Bluebirds are upto 5th place.

The victory at Ninain Park on Saturday came courtesy of a Roger Johnson header minutes before half time and the a Michael Chopra penalty in the 2nd half.

Chopra was on the pitch after coming off the bench to replace the injured Ross McCormack.

The first half wasn't the best to be honest but after the break City played a far better game with some lovely wide play from Paul Parry and Wayne Routledge. Bothroyd and Chopra made good runs and it was one such run that Bothroyd was felled to win the penalty.

Preston were very poor and it shows how wide open the league is when they started the day in 6th place,

Now City a have tough task. A Tuesday night game at a freezing Turf Moor to face in form Burnley. Not content with knocking both Chelsea and Arsenal out of the League Cup they went to Bramall Lane on Saturday and brought 3 points home off Sheff Utd.

City though can take Burnley's 4th place off them with a win.
