There's been nothing official regarding a seasons long loan move for Arsenal full back Kerrea Gilbert but the press are convinced it's about to happen

"Defender Gilbert is set to become the Bluebirds' sixth signing of the summer" says the Echo.

"Cardiff owner Sam Hammam and manager Dave Jones are close to agreeing a season-long loan for Gilbert, who has played European Champions League, Premiership, FA Cup, against Cardiff City and League Cup football for the Gunners"

Gilbert is a highly rated young talent and as mentioned played against City in the FA Cup.

Kerrea burst onto the scene at the turn of the year after a raft of injuries gave him his chance in Arsenal's back four. The England youth international impressed in an unfamiliar left-back role before settling in on the opposite flank.

Kerrea's strong tackling and athleticism won him plenty of admirers. Thierry Henry was among them after the captain headed home the youngster's cross during a thrilling Carling Cup Semi-Final against Wigan at Highbury.

Kerrea (pronounced Kerry) signed professional forms last summer. He has already played first-team football in all four major competitions and looks to have a bright future in the game.
