City in for Jobi McAnuff

Cardiff City are set to complete the signing of West Ham midfielder Jobi McAnuff (22) today. Lennie hinted yesterday that he was in the market for a different player after getting fed up with West Brom over Sean Gregan and it was revealed late last night that McAnuff is the new player.

Lennie has been a long time admirer of McAnuff and tried to sign him from Wimbledon a year ago but the player eventually moved to West Ham for £300,000 along with Nigel Reo Coker. Now, as West Ham look to save money by moving out some players, Alan Pardew has let McAnuff come to Cardiff for the same money he paid for him.

The player is in Cardiff today having his medical and hopefully the signing will be complete this afternoon with Jobi available to play against Plymouth tomorrow night.

He came off the bench during West Ham's opening fixture at Leicester last weekend but was not used in the Hammer's 1 - 0 win in midweek.

McAnuff is a Jamaican international and is recognised as a right sided midfield player who can also play on the left. In his career he scored 15 goals for Wimbledon and then one for West Ham at the tail end of last season.

Excellent news. Well done City.
