City looking to secure Loovens future

It's reported that the Dutch club could want around £700,000 for the young defender.

Loovens has been in superb form this season and has contributed with a couple of goals as well. He has forged a quality defensive partnership with Darren Purse and would be a cracking addition to the permanent staff if Ridsdale can broker a deal.

He has played in the Champions League with Feyenoord starting a game against Dynamo Kiev in 2002, the day after his 19th birthday. His good friend Robin van Persie, now of Arsenal, was also in that starting line up. The previous season as an 18 year old he played three games for Feyenoord in the Uefa Cup, a trophy they went on to win. He was in the team that knock Rangers out over two legs and he played against Dutch rivals PSV in one of the 1/4 final legs.
