City reject £3m offer from Hull for McCormack

McCormack has been the centre of attention over the past couple of weeks after news broke that he'd put in a transfer request. There were several various stories about if Ross had asked to go, if his agent has been meddling, were the club loking to cash in etc as well as links to clubs like Hull and Portsmouth.

Now though Phil Brown has confirmed he is bidding for the City striker.

"We've made our move, we've put a bid in for Ross McCormack but the bid has been rejected" Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

"Hopefully we can agree terms between the two clubs and the player still but we won't raise what we've bid because we think it's a good offer.

"He's a player who cost them a hundred grand a year ago and scored 23 goals in the Championship. We believe their valuation now is too high."

As each bit of news about Ross broke there were counter stories from the player saying he was happy. But it seems the bottom line is that Ross is not happy at being on the bench (as it looks like he will be tomorrow) and the club have an unsetled player that could be turned into a decent profit.

A move now seems inevitable. Hull have bid around £3m, City have rejected it and are looking for more like £4m. Not a lot of ground to cover before a deal is made. Ross might well start the season on City's bench tomorrow. This time next week he could be preparing for his opening game in the Premier League.

McCormack's moans have upset Dave Jones. Soon after signing a new deal with Cardiff the young Scot is the centre of all this transfer talk.

"Ross has to understand that he gets paid to play for this club, not to moan and groan" said Jones.

"It's strange that one minute the player is happy with a four-year lucrative contract and next there's quotes that he's not happy."
