Eyal Berkovic is latest name linked to Cardiff City

Eyal Berkovic is the latest big name linked to Cardiff City. The Western Mail this morning claim they understand that Lennie is keen to bring the 31 year old Israeli to Ninian Park.

It's said he would have to take a cut from his £20K per week salary. There is no mention of a transfer fee or even if Man City are willing to let him go. He has two years left on his contract.

Berkovic had played for Southampton, West Ham, Celtic and Blackburn before joining Man City and was a star in their promotion to the Premiership in 2002. A stomach injury last season restricted his outings and he has only made seven appearances in 2003, but was a regular in the team for the first half of the season. Man City paid £1.5m for him while Celtic paid West Ham £5.75m. The Hammers bought him from Southampton for £1.75m.
