FA to decide FA Cup venue

The Staffordshire minnows, currently in the British Gas League Midland Division (Division 8), want to play at their Church St home.

The FA, the club and the police have been in talks to decide the best location for the tie.

Wolves' Molineux has been mentioned as has nearby Walsall but both grounds are due to host FA Cup fixtures that weekend. That will influence the decision as well as there are several matches in the area due at the same time. Non League Hednesford is another possibility.

Scholars manager Charlie Blakemore said

"I definitely want to play it at home. If we can play it at the Scholars Ground we should because that's where our home is.

"I can remember watching the FA Cup on Match of the Day as a kid and watching these big clubs going to play on these almost parks pitches. That is what it is all about.

"It will be a logistical issue but I really want to play in front of our own supporters and get the community there again. The whole place is buzzing."
