Fabio Da Silva has recovered from the ligament damage suffered in the draw at Ipswich over a month ago.
The Brazillian defender is hoping to return to action at Bolton on Saturday when Cardiff face the bottom placed side in the division.
''I can't wait to be back, actually. I really want to help," Fabio said.
'I trained this morning and I think I will be available. I don't know if I will start or play for long, but to be available will be good.''
Fabio, who joined City in January 2014, had been having his most consistent spell with the Bluebirds when injury struck.
''It was very frustrating. I was playing good and playing every game.," he added.
"But I am recovered now and want to be back on the pitch.
''The boys and the staff have helped me a lot. I have worked hard to get back as quickly as possible and I think it is quicker than everyone had thought.''
