Gabbidon looks ahead to Wednesday night

DANNY GABBIDON is hoping his special love affair with the Millennium Stadium hits new heights in Wednesday night's Euro 2004 return play-off tie with Russia.

The brilliant Wales defender has had three special moments at the ground - his international debut against the Czech Republic, the 2-1 Group Nine win over Italy and Cardiff City's memorable Division Two play-off triumph against QPR.

But, scarcely able to believe that he's set for an even bigger occasion in two days time, Gabbidon acknowledges victory over the Russians will leave even those three memories standing.

Looking ahead to Wednesday's win or bust clash that can see Mark Hughes' men roar through to Portugal, Gabbidon purred, "I probably thought I couldn't surpass the Italy or QPR wins before packed houses at the Millennium Stadium.

"They were special dreams come true. Yet I seem to end up playing in even bigger and bigger games.
