Hasselbaink played for Middlesbrough between 2004 and 2006 and scored 23 goals in 48 league starts.

No disrespect to Sheffield United," he told The Northern Echo "But when the draw was made, I was instantly thinking about Middlesbrough.

"It would be an emotional occasion if I was able to go back. The supporters were magnificent to me and I would love the opportunity to play in front of them again."

Sheff Utd and Middlesbrough play their replay at the Riverside on Tuesday February 26th with the winners facing Cardiff City on Sunday March 9th for a place in a Wembley semi final.

"It would be very special to be going back and playing against some of my good friends like George Boateng," he continued. At least there would be some more older men on the field other than myself!

"I'd like to think I scored one or two special goals at the Riverside - especially in the cups - so maybe I can go back there and score one more."
