Jones said: "We started brightly but gave away a sloppy goal and made it difficult for ourselves. Full credit to them, though, as they kept going, but we knocked the stuffing out of them in the end.
"I needed to give some game time to Jason Koumas and we were always in control during extra-time. Several players had game time and that was important at this stage of the season.
"We are much stronger now and the squad is getting bigger and I`m hoping to do some more business in the next few days.
"Sometimes you have to sell to move on but until that happens we will carry on working hard to get the team firing on all cylinders."
