Ledley goal is perfect present

It was my birthday on Saturday. I set off for Loftus Rd with an uneasy feeling that City were going to mess with my nerves and fail to secure that coveted play off place.

A minor kerfuffle caused a delay in getting to London but the change of train route meant we got to see Tess from Casualty (in real life Colin Jackson's sister) and soon after midday we'd arrived in London and before 1pm was in the Hammersmith area lunching ahead of the match.

The match wasn't great, Rangers hit the post and got forward but as often happens the lower table side have plenty of huff and puff but no end product. A moment of quality from Mark Kennedy saw him win the ball in midfield and then overlap to cross for Ledley to head in unmarked at the far post.

The atmosphere in the City end was crazy and after Marshall saved brilliantly to deny Rangers a leveller you just knew it was going to be our day.

A perfect birthday gift.

The journey home was a jolly affair and capped off a superb day out.

Cheers Joe, and thanks to all my friends who texted, tweeted and facebooked me a happy birthday. It certainly was.
