Lennie looking to appoint new reserve team manager?

Wilkinson was shown the door by Grimsby yesterday as the Mariners cut costs after relegation. It's said that Wilkinson and Lawrence have already spoken and Lennie could offer him the same role of reserve team coach at Cardiff City. The reserves are currently looked after by Lennie's assistant Ian Butterworth. There was no suggestion that Butterworth's position was in any doubt, Wilkinson was suggested to be an addition to the coaching staff.

Wilkinson was brought to Blundell Park by Lawrence and is widely reagrded as a promising coach who has even been linked with the Barnsley job as uncertainty grows over Glyn Hodges. He also spent alot of time scouting and was involved in the development of youngsters trying to break into the Grimsby first team.

Maybe something, maybe nothing.
