Miller set for City return

Miller is likely to partner Robert Earnshaw in attack when City face Barnsley at Cardiff City Stadium tomorrow.

“Miller is back and ready for Saturday, while unfortunately Rudy Gestede looks likely to be out,” said Malky Mackay.

“It’s been frustrating for Rudy and it looks as though he could be out for a few weeks again.

“It was tough luck to have picked up another injury. He hasn’t had a lot of matches yet, but has looked good.”

Gestede pulled up with a hamstring injury in the defeat at Peterborough and later in the game Robert Earnshaw was subbed.

“Robert is fine. We needed fresh legs and that’s why I made a change.” Mackay explained.

Cardiff need to address a mini slump that has seen just one point picked up in three games this month and 8 (eight) goals conceded.

Mackay brought in Ben Turner last Saturday and stuck with him at Peterborough leaving Anthony Gerrard on the bench. Six goals conceded in those two games must have left Malky wondering if it was the right decision.

City face a home league and cup double with Barnsley the visitors tomorrow in the Championship and then Burnley come to Cardiff City Sadium on Tuesday to battle for a place in the Carling Cup 1/4 finals.
