No loan signing today - line up for Saturday

Lennie Lawrence has not ruled out bringing in loan players to cover injury worries at Ninian Park but there will not be anyone in this side of the weekend.

City definately without Alan Lee, John Robinson and Jason Bowen and are unlikely to have Jason Bowen available either. Gareth Whalley is another player ruled out. It wa suggested we could have brought someone in today.

Lennie told the Echo

"It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that we get someone in. I won't bring anybody in for the sake of it - I am trying to avoid that at all costs.

"But if I can get a player of sufficient quality, I will do it.

"Yesterday was a bad day at training. John Robinson aggravated his groin injury again and Jason Bowen has stretched the top of his hamstring.

"Gareth Whalley is nowhere near fitness with his tendonitis problem and there are quite a few people who would be under serious consideration for a starting place if they were fit.

"The squad is being tested big time. In terms of permanent recruits, I am quite happy with what I have done, but loans are harder. I could have a loan player in for any one of the three departments. We have changed the team recently, but I don't necessarily think that the players who have come in have contributed to us losing, they have done all right.

"But if my best team - my first starting 11 is out - I am very, very confident. We were finding our feet and had a nice shape, but then we lost a few players and now it's difficult."

With the players Lennie has left we can expect the City side to line up something like

Alexander, Weston, Vidmar, Gabbidon, Barker, Langley, Boland, Kavanagh, Bonner, Earnshaw, Thorne or Campbell.

Subs from Margetson, Croft, Gordon, Collins, Prior, Maxwell, Campbell (if Thorne is fit).

Out are Lee, Robinson, Young, Bowen and Whalley.
