Congratulations to the fourt City players that started last nights game in Oslo. James Collins and Daniel Gabbidon were able to keep Premiership striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer quiet and the pair have earned rave reviews.

"Gabbidon and James Collins did really well in defence, you can see they are club partners," said Solskjaer.

"Ryan Giggs told me a few good things about Gabbidon so I wasn't surprised. He's quick and strong and will play Premiership football soon, he can make the step up."

Mark Hughes had this to say.

"James Collins will get the praise, and he deserves it.

"He had a lot of his clubmates around him and that steadied his nerves. But he showed all the attributes of a good player.

"He has a physical presence and lots of ability. He will go on to have a long and hopefully fruitful career.

"The time had come really for both his club and myself to give him a run to see how good he really is.

"Cardiff put him in the side for a spell at the end of the season and that gave me the opportunity to do the same, and I was not disappointed.

"I was delighted with James. He has stature, ability and was not fazed by anything out there.

"He was up against the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Tore Andre Flo, top players who have been at the highest level. But he shone and turned in a display that really pleased me."
