Robbo sweating over slipped disc

JOHN Robinson faces a crunch appointment with a specialist today in the knowledge the last time he suffered a similar injury he was out of action for six months.

The Bluebirds midfielder has been sidelined since November's 3-2 win over Stoke City when he left the Britannia Stadium with his arm in a sling complaining of serious pain in his neck and shoulder, as well as a sore calf.

The calf injury has cleared up, but after four weeks of complete rest he will today undergo fresh scans on a slipped disc that has trapped a nerve in his neck.

Robinson is scheduled to be back in action by February but past experience at Charlton taught him that if the worst comes to the worst, that date could be pushed back considerably.

"We don't really know what the next step will be until we speak to the specialist and we know what course of action we are on," he said.
