Scimeca completes permanent transfer

Riccardo Scimeca has completed his transfer to Cardiff City.

The 30 year old has signed a two and a half year deal.

"Coming here was the right decision," he told the press. We've got a small squad, but there's a lot of quality in it. "I think we're good enough to challenge for the play-offs. Burnley have done well this season, but, in the end, we beat them convincingly.

"We've got Jason Koumas, who is fantastic on the ball. With his amount of talent, I'm surprised he's not in the Premiership. He's a Premiership player and I'm sure he'd like to get back there with Cardiff.

"We've got the strength of Darren Purse and Neil Cox at the back and there's Cameron Jerome, who can score goals. I wouldn't have come here if I didn't think City could get to the Premiership.

"We're going for it this season. If the opportunity is there you've got to try and take it, and we're in a great position. This is my first move away from the Midlands. I could have stayed there, but I joined Cardiff because it's a club with fantastic ambition."
