In 1987 they beat beat Spurs 3 - 2 at Wembley. Cardiff of course won it in 1927. 1 - 0 over Arsenal.

John Sillet led the SkyBlues to their famous extra time win over Tottenham in the 80's. Soon after though Coventry were on the wrong end of a giant killing as they were knocked out by non league Sutton Utd.

The early 90's saw Bobby Gould and Phil Neal both manage Coventry, both have since managed Cardiff City, neither very successfully.

City's biggest link with Coventry is Willie Boland. City's midfielder signed from Coventry in 1999, ironically it was Bobby Gould who gave Boland his debut in the 92/93 season.

Dean Gordon, last year on loan at Cardiff, is in line for a start for Coventry tomorrow. Gordon played for City over Christmas last season but after agreeing a second month on loan had two stinkers and was sent back to Middlebrough. Gordon is now a Coventry player and hopes to prove a point at Ninian Park tomorrow.
