1 point from 9 not good enough

There have been many calls since the final whistle for Dave Jones to step down. Who else is to blame for back to back inept performances. 2 weeks ago at Swansea the side ran out with little care for the passion of a local derby and at Barnsley apart from a couple of early half chances City failed to create an effort on goal for the rest of the game.

The effort was there in as much as the players kept running but they had no leadership or direction and the most bizarre tactic of launching long high balls to a Chopra / McCormack frontline.

There was little support from midfield with Chris Burke probably the only player satisfied with his performance.

The team are clueless withourt Bothroyd who missed the game through injury. They played the same tactic without him in the team as they do with him.

For the third time in four matches City conceded a goal in injury time. At Sheff Utd we held on as we were 2 goals to the good going into stoppage time, at home to Forest it cost us two points and at Barnsley a point was snatched by the Tyke's late late goal. Hudson unlucky to get booked for a handball that won Barnsley a free kick.

I watched from the stand resigned to Barnsley scoring and they didn't disappoint my fears with a deflected shot from the free kick leaving Marshall stood still as a statue.

Kevin McNaughton started his first game of the season but tweaked a hamstring in the first half.

When we are good we are very very good (v Bristol City, v Derby, v Watford etc) but when we are bad we are dreadful.

How on earth can we be so good in October and then so bad in the last couple of games. The manager with his dour demeanour doesn't help. He exudes a couldn't care less attitude that is really starting to wind the fans up.

Next week we face Ipswich at home. Firstly the crowd will be well down because of back to back defeats but if Cardiff fail in this match then the calls for a change of manager will get louder and louder.

Being beaten by a better team or being beaten after you've given it your all is fair enough but at the moment being beaten because we've forgotten how to play and because our opposition have more desire than us is not acceptalbe at all.
