1 year under Lennie Lawrence

Today marks a year to the day since his first game in charge, a fortunate 1-0 win against Bury in the wind and rain at Ninian Park.
Let's take a look at his record in the league:

2001/2 season: P15 W11 D3 L1 (including playoff semi finals), P13 W10 D3 L0 without.)

From the depths of despair of a shocking 0-4 reverse at Wigan, and being 5 points adrift of the playoffs, we went within a point of automatic promotion and as we all know, missed out in heartbreaking fashion in the playoffs.

2002/3 season so far: P30 W17 D7 L6 Pts 58

Solid yet unspectacular this season. However, it does seem amazing that in the last year we have played 45 league games and seen defeat on only 7 occasions.
We need to hope for a run like we had last year. A patchy run of form of late isn't going to help things though, especially with 9 of our last 16 games away from home.

Everyone always says 2 points per game will be enough to go up, we would need 34 points from our last 16 - W10 D4 L2 (or W9 D7 L0 / W11 D1 L4) to achieve that. With 9 of our last 16 games being away from home it's a tall order, otherwise we will be in the playoff lottery again which no-one wants.

It has to be an effort to go all out to win games from here on in - draws are no good at this stage of the season.

Good luck to Lennie Lawrence and the players on the run in.
