30 month deal swings it for Harris

Cardiff City have revelaed that they offered Neil Harris an 18 month contract but he former Millwall striker went for the security of a 30 month deal with Nottingham Forest. Cardiff could not match the financial outlay of the 30 month deal.

Speaking after his move Harris said

"I couldn't wait to get here.

"I spoke to Mick Harford at the weekend and he when he asked me whether I fancied a move to Forest, I just said yes. We didn't even talk terms - I just knew it was the right move for me.

"I wouldn't have joined Forest if I didn't think they could get themselves out of trouble. I've no doubts they will and I'm looking forward to helping them climb the table."

"I told Cardiff manager Lennie Lawrence of Forest's interest in me and he was superb. He told me he wanted me to stay at Cardiff but said there was no way he was going to stand in the way of me joining Forest."

Quite what the City fans will think of Neil Harris when he comes to Ninian Park on Monday week with his new team I'm not sure.

Lennie has confirmed he's keeping an eye on Cambridge Utd duo Luke Gutteridge and John Turner,

"I am monitoring with situation with both Gutteridge and Turner, we will keep a watching brief and make a decision in the new year".

As previously reported we could see Junichi Inamoto arrive on loan this week.
