SHEFFIELD United rejected the opportunity to sign Cardiff City centre-forward Cameron Jerome before his move to Birmingham City, The Star can reveal.
Jerome is expected to complete a £3 million move to St Andrews tomorrow after cutting short his holiday in Miami to undergo a medical with Steve Bruce's side.
But sources have confirmed that Bramall Lane, not Birmingham, was Cardiff's preferred destination for the England under-21 international, who had been the subject of two bids from Lane boss Neil Warnock in the past.
