Rob Earnshaw's 8 goals so far this season, added to the 42 scored previously means it's a glorious half century for the Wales striker.

Earnshaw's first goal, a superb scissors kick against Harlepool in the opening game of the 1998 / 1999 season can be found in the classic video archive of this website.

Earnshaw hopes to add to his tally when City entertain Crewe on Saturday. With seven goals in his last five games Earnie is the man in form. Earnshaw is grateful to his current striker partner Peter Thorne

"Thorney was brilliant," said Earnshaw after the Plymouth game. "He worked so hard and plays a big part in helping me score goals. We have quality strikers at the club with Andy Campbell, Leo Fortune-West and Gavin Gordon all waiting for their chance. It's up to the manager who I play alongside and they are all good players, but right now it's working with Thorney and I."

Speaking about Tuesday nights game Earnshaw said

"It felt awful when we conceded that equaliser so late in the game. Three minutes was shown on the board by the fourth official, but five minutes were played. That seemed a lot of injury-time and maybe the timekeeper is to blame for that, but we have to make sure we don't concede. That's down to all 11 players on the pitch - everybody defends when the other side have possession. But we came away from a difficult match in Devon with a point and we have to forget that late goal now. There is another big game on Saturday, against Crewe, and that's all-important now."

Earnie is hoping to continue his impressive goalscoring form when he runs out at Ninian Park on Saturday.

"I'm happy with my form and my goals. The task now is to keep that going - starting against Crewe on Saturday."

Rob Earnshaw was speaking to the South Wales Echo.
