A clean sheet at last. Website reaction

City kept a clean sheet today for the first time in 11 league games. The draw also ended the four match losing run that has seen us plummet into the bottom 3. Today's point keeps us in the same place but on the optimistic side can been seen as a platform to build from.

I felt City were the better team in the first half with Alan Lee early on testing Gerrard in the Forest goal. At the end of the half Lee managed to break free from his markers out wide and his ball across the face of goal only needed a touch.

On one of the occasions Forest threatened, City keeper Tony Warner was hurt in a challenge with David Johnson. The pair collided with Warner ending up worse off. The City keeper immediately left the field to be replaced by Martyn Margetson. Warner need 10 stitches in a head wound. Prior to that Warner turned one effort from distance over the bar.

As the home team Forest were expected to come at us after the break and they had a go and on balance were the more offensive team during the second half. They managed to miss the best chance of the game when City's regular cock up (we offer at least one goal away per game) was not capitalised on. Robert Page (who apart from this error did really well) attempted a back header to Margetson, the ball offered David Johnson a chance to challenge Margetson and the striker appeared to get the better of the City stopper. With Margetson scrambling against Johnson to get the ball the Forest striker only had to use the half yard advantage to pass the ball into the net from 2 yards. His foot though hadn't read the script and he managed to put the ball over the bar with the whole goal at his mercy.

Overall it wasn't the best game in the world. The draw wasn't what either side wanted. For Forest it's their worst league start in over 70 years with no wins from their opening 7 games.

I think it will be a point earned if we can win the two home games coming up against Watford on Tuesday and Derby next Saturday.
