England's No.1
West Ham Utd have lost some of their biggest stars. Joe Cole and Glenn Johnson to Chelsea, Trevor Sinclair to Man City, Freddi Kanoute to Tottenham, Paulo Di Canio to Charlton. Nigel Winterburn retired.

The Hammers though still have some easily recongnisable names. In goals is the current England keeper David James, at the back they have Tomas Repka and Scottish international Christian Dailly. In midfield former Newcastle and England midfielder Rob Lee is joined by ex Man City player Kevin Horlock and Matt Etherington on loan from Spurs.

Alexandersson who is on loan from Everton is cup tied for tonights game.

Up front the Hammers have Jermaine Defoe, thier prized asset. He is linked with a January move to Man Utd. Also David Connolly, the Irishman joined West Ham in the summer from Wimbledon. Defoe was sent off last Saturday at Gillingham. A yellow card was followed by a straight red, unless he gets a 6 game ban he will have served his punishment by the time the teams meet again on Oct 25th, also live on Sky.

Neil Mellor, on loan from Liverpool maybe on the bench as he recovers from illness.

West Ham were beaten at Gillingham on Saturday and caretaker manger Trevor Brooking has demanded better from his players tonight.

The Hammers must start as favourites for tonight's game, not by much but only 4 months ago there was 2 divisions between the teams and West Ham are still one of the most likely teams to get promotion this season.

The next time they come to Ninian Park on October 25th they will new manager Alan Pardew in control. Brooking looks after the team until the 18th and then he reverts to his previous backroom role and TV career.
