June 28th.

DUTCH giants Ajax and Spanish club Seville have joined the race for Cardiff City goal machine Robert Earnshaw, The Western Mail can reveal.

Ajax, four-time winners of the European Cup, are reputedly looking to offload Egyptian international Mido - and have earmarked the 22-year-old Wales international as his replacement.

The Amsterdam club have looked at video footage of Earnie in action and they are said to be impressed.

And Primera Liga sides Seville and Celta Vigo are also trailing the Welsh hotshot - a move which might concern the Bluebirds as Earnshaw has publicly declared his ambition to play in Spain one day

Seville, who finished 10th in La Liga last season, are chasing Manchester United striker Diego Forlan.

But with United looking to recoup much of the £7.5m fee they paid for the Uruguayan international, Forlan might prove too costly and Seville might turn their attentions to Earnshaw instead.

The City player would be expected to fetch at least £3m.
