Alan Lee out for several weeks

Bad luck
Alan Lee has undergone surgery on his knee after getting injured while training with Ireland. Lennie Lawrence reported to the official website that his operation on damaged cartlidge was a success but he will be out for a number of weeks.

Lee is suspended for the next three City games anyway. Thankfully Peter Thorne is fit again.

Andy Campbell returned to action for the reserves this week but aggravated the thigh strain that has kept him out of the squad for the past few weeks.

At the back City are without Scott Young. Spencer Prior and Daniel Gabbidon are recovering and at the moment it's unknown if either will be in contention for the visit of Gillingham on Saturday. Gary Croft has now played two reserve games since his appendix operation.

James Collins, after being injured in Italy last friday, was fit enough to be on the bench for Wales U21 on Tuesday this week and played the final 5 mins of the game.

Rhys Weston pulled up in the Wales game last night, he hobbled off with what looked like cramp, hopefully it was nothing more.

At the time of writing (midday Thursday) I would expect a City line up on Saturday of

Alexander, Weston, Vidmar, Collins, Barker, Langley, Boland, Kavanagh, Robinson, Earnshaw, Thorne.

We should start to know more on Thursday afternoon if we have to make changes.
