'Alan was nobbled' - Ronnie Moore

Last updated : 15 August 2003 By Michael Morris

Moore has made it cleatr this week that he is not happy about losing Alan Lee. He must have held some sort of hope that the deal would fail but confirmaton this morning has brought Moore out with claims of dodgy dealings.

He told the Rotherham official website

"I think everyone knows my feelings - it's a decision which has been made and sometimes in life people make them for you and you have to learn to live with it.

"At the end of the day there's nothing I can do about that. We have played a game of poker and lost.

"I don't know how much I have to spend. We have put one or two bids in but once you have the £850,000, transfer fees for players we are interested in suddenly go up.

"Cardiff played a canny game. Alan was nobbled at and I don't like that. I can't name names or I will get into trouble but something hasn't been quite right behind the scenes and nothing changed from when we turned the first offer down.

"But Alan spoke to our chairman and said he was unhappy and wanted to move and the chairman is one of those people who will let players go when that's the situation."

Time to move on Ronnie, Alan Lee is now a Cardiff City player.
