All this talk of outgoings. Who's coming in?

Worringly they say that Jones may push the boat out to get Howard. Why? His club, Leicester, have just been relegated. We shouldn't be paying over the odds for a potential Steve Thompson Mark II. Maybe that's a tad harsh on Howard, he has managed 6 goals in 2008 from 20 games. His record overall is pretty good as well but we don't need to be acting silly and waving wads of cash around.

How serious the claims that we are after Ched Evans are I don't now. The Welshman was loaned out to Norwich last season by Sven Goran Eriksson but now Man City have a new boss, Mark Hughes, and he might want to develop the striker for the fist team.

Chopra was linked last season as a possible loan back. Robert's name appears totally random. One player Jones seems to have little time for is Freddy Eastwood.

Jones said: "Up-front is probably the hardest position to fill because everyone is after strikers.

"It is almost impossible to try to pick up quality strikers for no money, it just cannot be done.

"We have looked at Freddy, but I believe he will go elsewhere," said Jones.

"Anyway we can get far better than that if I can get the players I want."
