Another Ramsey bid turned down

The City youngster who has just 1 minute of league experience has been the subject of a £1m + bid before. This time it's Liverpool who are knocking the door.

It's my understanding that Everton showed an interest before Liverpool picked up on the lad. The headline grabbing "seven figure" is thought to be for the whole package depending on how the player progresses. It's more liekly an initial fee over a couple of hundred thousand whould be on offer with more if his career takes off. There's been a suggession that Chelsea could be interested. That idea was mentioned on the messageboard on this site yesterday and word got through to Peter Ridsdale who told the Western Mail

"It is utter rubbish. I'm not aware of Chelsea's interest. Liverpool are the second Premiership team to put in a seven-figure bid for Ramsey, but he's not for sale.

"In fact, we are not selling any more of our crown jewels. Our young players like Ramsey, Ledley and Gunter are not for sale. We are going to build a team around them."
