Attwell is aged just 28. He became the youngest ever Premier league referee aged just 25.

He was the referee who awarded Reading a goal against Watford even though the ball went a yard wide.

This season he's issued 37 yellow cards and one red card in 10 games. He was in charge of the Ipswich v Leicester game two weeks ago that saw the match played on a blanket of snow.

In a match between Wolves and Newcastle in August he booked 12 players.

His one previous Cardiff game was a 1 - 0 home win over Plymouth two years ago this week.

Mr Attwell will be assisted by S Beck and A Watts. The 4th official is R East.
