The Liverpool boss is without Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso after both were injured against Arsenal on the weekend.

Javier Mascherano took a knock and is unlikely to be risked. Peter Crouch is set to start up front for Liverpool. That should keep Roger Johnson or Glenn Loovens busy.

Harry Kewell could aslo start.

Rafa Benitez said: "We have to be careful because we have so many injuries and we are playing a lot of games at the moment so we'll have to see who plays.

"It depends on which players are fit. Lucas Leiva needs to play, Sebastian Leto needs to play and so does Fabio Aurelio.

"So I don't know how many players we can use from the reserves, but I know I will also need some of the senior players.

"Harry Kewell played 45 minutes in the reserves last week and he too needs to play games, so we will see."

Jack Hobbs is likely to start in central defence in place of Sami Hypia and Pepe Reina will be rested for Charles Itandje in the Reds goal.
