Joe Bennett has apologised for his tackle that took Leroy Sane out of the game at CCS this afternoon.
The challenge earned Bennett a yellow card but could have been a straight red. In the 92nd minute Bennett did get a second yellow and was sent off moments before the final whislte.
The player has acknowledged his error but the reaction online has been ridiculous with people launching into the City defender despite counter evidence to show that Man City aren't exectly angels when it comes to bad tackles.

Just want to apologise to Leroy Sané for my tackle today. I tried to stop the counter attack and completely mistimed my attempt.
I didn't mean to catch him like I did. I hope it's nothing serious and he recovers quickly
