Vidmar speaks to the South Wales Echo regarding the partnership he has been building with Danny Gabbidon over the pre-season games. The Australian said:

"I hadn't seen Danny play before I came to Cardiff City, but I've certainly seen him now,"

"He is a confident defender who is good with the ball at his feet. He also dominates his penalty area and I'm looking forward to playing alongside him."

"I can't wait for the new season to start. I've played in the Scottish Premier League and in the Premiership for Middlesbrough, but it doesn't bother me to be in Division One."

"Cardiff City are a club I want to play for and there is the potential here to make progress."

Gavin Gordon talks to the Western Mail regarding his desire to earn a new contract with the Bluebirds. The 24 year old ex Lincoln man said:

"This is a make-or-break season for me,"

"I want to stay at Cardiff so it's up to me to stake a claim in the squad and show the gaffer that I'm good enough to be part of his plans."

"The fact this is my last year is at the back of my mind."

" If the manager does not want to keep me then I'll have to look elsewhere to play my football."

Also finally City full back Gary Croft spoke to the Western Mail about the split appendix he suffered before the weekend.

"I remember lying on the operating table and seeing the time. "

"It was 4.55pm. I remember that because I thought the lads would be getting changed or be on the coach for the trip home after the Cambridge game."

"My appendix was split and puss was leaking into my stomach. "

"The appendix was on the verge of bursting so I'm lucky I was taken to hospital when I did. If it had burst, it would have been a life-threatening problem."

"I had a high temperature on Sunday night but I'm feeling much better now, even though I haven't eaten for four days."
