The draw almost finishes off Brentford's automatic promotion hopes.

Kieffer Moore's penalty gave Cardiff a second half lead for the second game in a row and like the draw at Reading City failed to hold on to the lead with Alex Smithies this time fumbling a Tariqe Fosu shot from distance.

With City's play off hopes already over the last few games have been scraps that show why we've just fallen short. Dropping points from winning positions in the last three games is frustrating and not the form that will see you progressing.

These games were more important though for Reading and Brentford who were chasing a play off place and automatic promotion place respectively but Cardiff battled and spolied the hopes of both teams.

Next up City face Wycombe. The Chairboys come to Cardiff on Saturday on the verge of relegation and that fate could be confirmed at CCS
