Malky Mackay announced yesterday evening after the 0-0 draw with Everton that he had secured the services of French full back Kevin Theophile-Catherine from Rennes In a deal thought to be worth around £2m.
He has signed a four year deal.
Mackay said: "We have signed Kevin Theophile-Catherine from Rennes today.
"He is a good defender, he is someone we have tracked over the last year in France. He is someone who has pace, is aggressive and has good experience in the French top division, so he is someone we feel will be a good addition to our squad."
The new signing with have 'Theophile' on the back on his shirt and be squad no. 28.
