Bluebirds linked to £4m keeper Alex Smithies

C:WindowsTempphp922D.tmpReports on Monday eveing say that Cardiff City have agreed a £4m fee with Q.P.R. for keeper Alex Smithies.

The former Hudersfield player is highly rated by Neil Warnock with the City boss saying last August after City had beaten Rangers 2 - 1 at CCS

"We created some chances. Smithies had no right to get to some of those saves, I thought he was brilliant today.

"If I was in the Sunday People I’d be giving him 10 out of 10, in my marks!

"He’s been good for 18 months now. When you talk about the Premier League i’m surprised nobody has come in for him because he’s the best I’ve seen for many years."

A tweet from journalist Pete O'Rourke this evening has generated some excitement the general consensus that this would be a very good player for Cardiff City.
