Bluebirds record scorer signs for Norwich City

Earnshaw, scorer of 31 league goals in 2002 / 2003, a City record (36 in the season when you inc cup and international goals) has signed a three and a half year deal with City's Championship rivals. He departs WBA in the Midlands for a new life in Norfolk.

He watched from the stand tonight at the Madejski as he new team were mullered 4 - 0 by Reading.

Earnshaw's first game for Norwich will be the local derby against Alan Lee's Ipswich on Sunday. Earnie could be selected to parter his old mate Peter Thorne up front. Between them in the season mentioned above they hit over 50 goals.

Earnie's return to Ninian Park will be for City's last home game on April 22nd.

"I've always scored goals," he told the Official Norwich website. "I've always scored when I've been playing and I just hope it carries on.

"Norwich have given me that chance and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season."

Nigel Worthington said of his new striker

"He is a great capture for the football club and I'm delighted to get him.

"We needed someone of that calibre to push us on. Hopefully he will do his job and score goals and it's up to the others to work hard and create them for him."
