A dominant first half that saw Sean Morrison and Kieffer Moore put Cardiff 2 - 0 up laid the foundation for a stunning win on the South coast.

Taking permanent charge of Bournemouth for the first time Jonathan Woodgate tasted defeat against a Cardiff side that have won six games on the spin. That's 8 games in total unbeaten since McCarthy took over.

Morrison headed in Harry Wilson's corner before Moore smashed home a penalty after Perry Ng was fouled in the box.

The second half saw Bournemouth find some attacking intent and they pulled a goal back from a Cardiff attack. Marlon Pack, otherwise solid enough, lost possession high up the pitch and Bournemouth broke from one end to the other to see Shane Long head past Dillon Phillips.

A nervous 10 - 15 passed before Cardiff regained control and saw out the final minutes to secure a fabulous result and move into the play off places at Bournemouth's expense.

Next up it's Middlesbrough. Neil Warnock's Middlesbrough.
