Lansdown told the Official Bristol, City website

"There has been interest in Danny and I have now told him about the bid from Cardiff. The bid wasn't sufficient enough for us to consider and that was the answer I gave them. I have heard no more from them so I think the matter is closed now.

"Danny had an excellent season for us and is still improving. We have no wish to sell him and I wouldn't think any offer would be entertained unless it came from a Premiership club."

Coles, 21 had had a superb season and impressed in the games against Cardiff. Coles was linked in the press several weeks ago but the announcement today is the first official statement connecting both parties.

Another Bristol City player linked, skipper Tommy Doherty, has signed a new 3 year deal with the Robins.
