Bullard double condemns City to home defeat

City had a goal disallowed in the first half followed by a free kick that rattled the bar and Ipswich were glad to still be at 0 - 0 come half time. Stephen Bywater had little to do on his City debut and he continued to watch on as his opposite number pulled off two stunning saves to deny JET and Chopra early in the second half. But all the while Ipswich plugged away being efficient if not progressive. Their time came and when the chances did present themselves they took them. First a strike from outside the box that Bullard hit just right and he doubled his and Ipswich's tally with another effort from distance when his free kick was deflected past the diving Bywater. City's heads had dropped before the second went in and it soured a day that had previously seen both Forest and Swansea lose. Queens Park Rangers have moved 8 points clear at the tip as the chasing pack all shot themselves in the foot. Cardiff now face a tricky trip to Selhurst Park on Tuesday to face Crystal Palace.
