60’s. The Bob Lord Stand (now known as the Totally Wicked Bob Lord Stand) was the first ever centrally heated football stand – there was a small hole in the floor by every seat which would have warm air blown through it once the temperature went below a certain figure. It was also the first football stand that sold fish and chips and it might have been because punters kept on shoving chip paper in the holes that the central heating was turned off after a season or two and has not been switched on since.
