Captain Ledley on not being Captain Ledley

Ledley is honoured to lead out his country less than a week after finding out Mark Hudson would be the City skipper and not Joe.

"I'm disappointed at not being captain at Cardiff, anybody would be," said Ledley.

"It did mean a lot to me, particularly being a Cardiff boy. I think it meant more to me than anyone else at the club.

"I was brought up in Fairwater and my family were chuffed that I was captain. I thought I did well as captain last season and I thought we went on a good run when I was captain but it is a decision that is down to the manager and chairman.

"I think it is about the situation with my contract but I've still got a year left and there is plenty of time to sort something out. Now I'm looking forward to the game against Montenegro. It is a great honour to lead a great bunch of boys out for Wales."
