Cardif City will be seeded for tonight's Carabao Cup draw. The 2nd round fixtures will be drawn after the Bury v Sundaerland 1st round game that's being played this evening.
As a seeded team Cardiff cannot play any of the 13 Premier league sides joining the draw at this stage, relegated sides Hull and Middlesbrough (who had byes in round one) nor any Championship club that finished above the Bluebirds last season.
We can't face Aston Villa either, they are currently the last seeded team in the draw (but that would change if Bury were to win tonight and it's also affected by the abandoned Grimsby v Derby match).
But that's getting too complicated. What we do know is that we could get Newport County, either of the two Bristol teams, any remaining League One or Two sides and a one of several lower placed Championship clubs.
