Cardiff were at the Hamburg side from the start and Lex Immers gave the Bluebirds the lead after just two minutes. Litka levelled for FC St Pauli midway through the half but an o.g. just before half time gave City a 2 - 1 lead that they held onto.

The two victories turned out to be enough as Boroussia Mounchengladback only managed to beat St Pauli on penalties before they won the final game against Osnabruck. With Cardiff winning both game in normal time they took the title.
